Karolyn Carnie is a graduate of the 2017 UCLA Screenwriting program. Karolyn is originally from Toronto Canada, and she exemplifies her roots in her work from Canadian topics, to stereotypical male worlds that she was raised in such as: working in a beer store for seven years, and being in construction half her life, as well as being a die hard baseball fan.
Since graduating, she has garnered recognition for her work through multiple contests, including winning the Television Pilot of the Film Electric Screenwriting contest for her drama pilot SLEEMAN, inspired by a true story of a family Canadian Brewery that bootlegged to Al Capone. Her feature GOLD MEDAL DOMINATION just placed in the finals in the STAGE 32 Comedy Screenwriting Contest, as well as placing in numerous other contests.
Karolyn is currently pitching her show LIQUID GOLD, about a family brewery in the 80's, to networks and productions companies, taking on family drama like SIX FEET UNDER and DYNASTY did. Karolyn works as Script Coordinator on the untitled SUITS SPINOFF, after working on SUITS as showrunner assistant for three seasons.
Her background is in production, where she worked on a number of other shows in Canada, including TITANS for the DC streaming channel soon to come out. Karolyn has also worked with acclaimed directors and producers while working on pitches for companies such as Disney, NBC, and others.
Karolyn has a passion for television and loves Network television, both comedy and drama and wants to make one person laugh when they're having a bad day. She knows shows that have inspired her to write like: WILL & GRACE, ALL IN THE FAMILY, and GILMORE GIRLS have changed peoples minds and given them information they didn't have before and she wants to follow in their footsteps.
