Golden Goose: The Relatable Story of Josh in His Own Words
Half-hour comedy
When mediocre superstar musician Josh learns that his music career is a critical failure, he sets out to return to his singer-songwriter roots – despite his record label’s attempt to keep him living in ignorant bliss.
Orangettes
One-hour dramedy
When a saber tooth tiger tooth goes missing at the Natural History Museum, amateur journalist Ginger and her puppet-performing best friend Sawyer team up to find it – uncovering dark secrets of the museum along the way.
Alma Mater: University of Toronto
Inspiration: The Mary Tyler Moore Show, 30 Rock, everyone from 2006-2013 SNL, Lisa Simpson, the Co-Op episode of Documentary Now!, and last but not least, Joe Mama.
Bio: Kayleigh Birch is a comedy writer (half-hour/sketch/joke/all that good stuff) based in LA. An Irish-Canadian-turned-Californian, storytelling has always been the center of her world. Since she was a resident “weird girl” exploring everything from parody songs to imaginary one-woman shows, TV has has been the constant love of her life. After a homecoming stint with the polar at the University of Toronto (’20), Kayleigh returned to LA for her time at UCLA. Her writing is influenced by the irreverent and eccentric in the world: she is impassioned by distinct characters that fail loudly and often. When she is not writing pilots, she is broadening her late-night skillset, writing jokes, monologues, desk pieces, and sketches. Or doing improv (Second City!). Or writing sentence fragments. Hope you enjoyed this bio - don’t forget to exit through the gift shop. I know the mugs are overpriced, but you can’t really get them online.
