Kevin Karch was born in Bismarck, ND, but was nomadically raised in North Dakota, Texas, and Minnesota, and never knows how to respond to the question, “Where are you from?” Growing up in The Lone Star State and the plains of the Midwest has also caused him to have a bizarre, amalgamated accent that makes him sound like Fargo’s Jerry Lundegaard, with a Larry Hagman, Dallas-style twang, when he speaks.
Kevin is the proud father of a child with autism, and received his B.A. in English with a Creative
Writing Emphasis from the University of Minnesota (2011). He also completed
UCLA’s Professional Program in Screenwriting (2012), and attended Hamline University’s
(St. Paul, MN) MFA Creative Writing program–Minnesota’s first MFA Creative Writing Program–where he wrote fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction.
Kevin is a 2017 Humanitas Prize in Dramatic Television nominee for his half-hour dramedy, Dispensed.
