Short Bio: Before transferring to UCLA to begin his graduate education in 2018, John Strickland worked as a real estate agent in Los Angeles selling single family homes and multi-unit apartment buildings. Accepted to the prestigious UCLA graduate film school, John is a second year Graduate MFA screenwriter at UCLA, and has recently finished a portfolio of one hour dramas, thirty minute comedies and full length features. After living a full life prior to returning to school twenty five years later, John’s scripts are informed by his vast life experience as a husband of twenty five years and father of four living in Los Angeles.
Through his work in the graduate program at UCLA, John found his passion as a TV writer, and has successfully completed a body of work that showcases his unique voice. He has worked as a teacher's aid for UCLA’s undergraduate introduction to beginning screenwriting for Pat Verducci and Linda Vorhees while finishing his final quarter as a graduate student.
Logline #1: A ruthless and savvy mayor wishes to change his corrupt ways and leave the criminal world behind, but has difficulty juggling his two lives.
