She studied broadcast journalism at the University of Missouri, graduating cum laude in 2015. After graduation, Cat began working as a television producer at a local news station in Jacksonville, FL. From the 2016 presidential election to Hurricane Irma, Cat covered a variety of stories during her time in the Sunshine State. Ultimately, working in the newsroom was the push she needed to finally pursue her dream career as a screenwriter. In 2018, she entered the MFA Screenwriting Program at the University of California, Los Angeles to learn more about her craft. She's written several television pilots and feature screenplays during her time at UCLA.
Artist Statement: Despite tackling some heavy topics in my writing, I'm acutely aware that film and television can be an escape from the harsh realities of the world. My goal is to deliver impactful stories with just the right amount of levity. After all, laughter is the best medicine.
