Short Bio: Bia Celani was born in Brazil and, as the daughter of an architect and an air force pilot, moving to a different city or country every four or so years became part of her childhood. Having experienced life in the US, Spain, England, her writings often embrace themes of belongingness and cultural clash through underdog characters. With a passion for the whimsical, her objective as a storyteller is to remind others (and herself) that life is not always easy but is certainly beautiful.
In 2015, Bia received a BA in Film & Television at the University of Sao Paulo and began working as an assistant in a Brazilian production company. Since then, she has worked as a researcher and screenwriter on several TV Documentary Series for internationally renowned networks and broadcasting companies such as HBO, National Geographic, and Vice Media. In 2019, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and moved to Los Angeles to pursue an MFA in Screenwriting.
