Short Bio: Katie Adams is a second year student in UCLA TFT’s MFA Screenwriting program, where she has written about everything from the black market cactus trade to broken female friendships and won the Feature Comedy category of the 2019 TFT Screenwriters Showcase with her script A Portrait of the Serial Killer as a Young Woman. Before coming to UCLA, she studied film at Stanford University and grew up in Big Bear Lake, California, which left her with the deep belief that mountain resort gothic should be a genre and just generally a lot to write about.
Specializing in both darkly absurd and absurdly dark stories about women and female existence, Katie keeps trying to come up with a plot that doesn’t involve murder. No luck there yet, but she wants you to know that she doesn’t bite. Promise.
Logline #1: COLD BLOOD CLUB - TV Comedy - All outspoken high schooler Greta Green wants is to be taken seriously by her small mountain community, which finds the true crime obsession and the feminism of her friends equally disturbing, but when a dark turn proves the girls’ worldview right, they discover what true crime means when it’s real.
Logline #2: THIMBLERIG "A LITTLE BIRDIE" - TV Drama - When people-pleasing newlywed Naomi Clark crosses paths with a sardonic conwoman who shows her the cracks in her glossy existence, Naomi struggles not to unravel as she discovers what she really wants—starting with becoming an accomplice to the conwoman’s schemes.
Logline #3: A PORTRAIT OF THE SERIAL KILLER AS A YOUNG WOMAN - Feature Comedy - Ramona Morgan is just another young woman who wants to make it in a male-dominated field, but attracting the attention of both an upstart young detective and a criminal psychologist could make or break her dreams of becoming the first famous female serial killer.
